Pay-per-click ad campaigns can become very expensive. Worse yet, the campaign may yield terrible results when not implemented correctly. Bidding on long tail keywords may be the solution. These usually consist of multi word, descriptive, or uncommon phrases such as Northern Wisconsin nature photography and have many benefits:

  • They tend to be much cheaper
    • For example, the search “nature photography” may cost over $1 per click through Google. Conversely, “northern wisconsin nature photography” costs only $0.05 a click.
  • They may produce lower bounce rates
    • A visitor looking for nature photography in Northern Wisconsin and has found your site through the respective long tail search is much more likely to be satisfied with your landing page. In comparison, a random nature photography website may have nothing to do with the Northwoods of Wisconsin.
  • They can lead to higher conversion rates
    • Since the visitor has already thinned their search engine results page and clearly have a specific subject in mind, the chances of a conversion may rise significantly.

Before spending any more money on a PPC campaign, consider these benefits of long tail keywords.
